Privacy Policy
Effective date: [Month DD, 2026]
Boxy ("the app," "we," "us") is a mental wellness companion app operated by [Your name or company name]. We built Boxy to be a calm, private space — and we treat your privacy with the same care. This policy explains what information the app handles, how it's stored, and the choices you have.
The short version
- Your journal entries, moods, worries, letters, and streaks are stored locally on your device. We do not have a server that collects or stores the content of your reflections.
- We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use the content of your entries for advertising.
- Subscriptions and payments are handled entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details.
Information stored on your device
When you use Boxy, the following information is created and saved in the app's local storage on your iPhone:
- Mood check-ins and the dates you logged them
- Written entries from workouts such as Gratitude Garden, Worry Stones, Kind Letter, The Slow Path, and Evening Wind-Down
- Exercise completion records, streak counts, and unlocked habitat decorations
- Your onboarding selections (such as your focus areas)
This information stays on your device. If you delete the app, this locally stored information is deleted with it and cannot be recovered by us. The app does not currently sync your data to a cloud service or across devices.
Subscriptions and purchases
Boxy offers an auto-renewing subscription with a free trial, processed by Apple through your App Store account. Apple handles all payment information under its own privacy policy. We receive limited, non-identifying transaction information necessary to confirm your subscription status (for example, whether a subscription is active), via our subscription-management provider [RevenueCat, Inc.]. You can review their privacy practices at [link to provider's privacy policy].
Analytics and diagnostics
[Choose one and delete the other:]
- [Option A] Boxy does not use third-party analytics. We may receive anonymous, aggregated crash reports through Apple if you have opted in to sharing diagnostics with developers in your iOS settings.
- [Option B] We use [analytics provider] to understand aggregate usage (such as which workouts are most used) so we can improve the app. This data does not include the content of your entries. [Describe identifiers collected and link to provider policy.]
What we never do
- We do not sell or rent your personal information.
- We do not use the content of your moods, journals, or reflections for advertising or marketing.
- We do not share your entries with third parties. They remain on your device.
Your wellbeing data deserves extra care
Boxy is a self-guided wellness app, not a medical service, and the information you enter is not a medical record. Even so, we recognize that reflections about your mood and worries are sensitive, which is why Boxy is designed to keep them on your device rather than on our servers.
Children's privacy
Boxy is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us at [contact email].
Your choices and rights
- Access and deletion: Because your entries live on your device, you can view them in the app's Journal and delete them by deleting the app. [If you add an in-app "delete my data" option, describe it here.]
- Subscription management: You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime in your App Store account settings.
- Regional rights: Depending on where you live (for example, the EU/UK under GDPR or California under the CCPA), you may have additional rights regarding personal information. To exercise any applicable right, contact us at [contact email].
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes — for example, if a future version of Boxy adds cloud backup — we will update this page, revise the effective date above, and note the change in the app.
