Terms of Use
Effective date: [Month DD, 2026]
Welcome to Boxy. These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and [Your name or company name] ("Boxy," "we," "us") governing your use of the Boxy iOS application and website. By downloading or using Boxy, you agree to these Terms.
1. Boxy is a wellness companion — not medical care
Boxy offers self-guided wellbeing exercises such as breathing, journaling, gratitude, and grounding practices. Boxy is not a medical or mental health service and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, therapy, or treatment. Boxy is not a substitute for care from a licensed professional, and it is not designed for use in emergencies or crises.
If you are experiencing a mental health crisis or thinking about harming yourself, please contact a licensed professional or emergency services right away. In the United States, you can call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) at any time. Never disregard professional advice or delay seeking it because of something in the app.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your region) to use Boxy. If you are under 18, you may use Boxy only with the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian.
3. Subscriptions, free trial, and billing
- Boxy requires an auto-renewing subscription after a 7-day free trial. Plans currently offered: [$9.99/month] or [$67/year]. Prices may vary by region and are shown in the app before purchase.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at the end of the free trial unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime in your App Store account settings.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies; we are unable to issue refunds directly for App Store purchases.
4. Your content
The moods, journal entries, letters, and other content you create in Boxy belong to you. Your entries are stored locally on your device (see our Privacy Policy), and we claim no ownership of them. You are responsible for keeping your device secure.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse Boxy — including attempting to reverse engineer the app, interfere with its operation, use it for unlawful purposes, or resell access to it.
6. Intellectual property
Boxy — including the Boxy character, pixel artwork, exercise designs, text, and software — is owned by [Your name or company name] and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app for your own wellbeing. You may not copy, distribute, or create derivative works from the app or its content without our permission.
7. Disclaimers
Boxy is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular wellbeing outcome will result from its use.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, [Your name or company name] will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of Boxy. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
9. Changes to Boxy or these Terms
We may update the app and these Terms over time. If we make material changes to the Terms, we will update the effective date above and provide notice in the app. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
10. Termination
You may stop using Boxy at any time. We may suspend or end access to the app if you violate these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will survive.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of [your state/country], without regard to conflict-of-law principles. [Your attorney may recommend adding a dispute-resolution or arbitration clause here.]
